To be honest this might be a weird time for you. But guess what? It’s going to be a weird time for thousands of others across the country too.
There are probably lots of things floating round in your head right now. Will I fit in? Will there be more work? More pressure? What about exams? Will I have friends in my class? Argh?!
Don’t freak out. It’s a big change going from being the big fish to the small fish. It’s totally OK to feel whakamā/nervous. Even if you get off to a shit start, don’t worry, you’ll settle in. But if you start worrying so much you cant bear to walk in the school gates, that could be a sign of something more serious like anxiety or depression.
