Believe it or not, everyone experiences study stress. Even people who seem totally in control can find themselves overwhelmed at times.

Sometimes it can really help to talk with someone about what you’re feeling. You could:

  • chat with friends
  • talk with your family or a teacher
  • get advice from a counsellor.

Just telling someone how you’re feeling can help you feel better, and there’s no shame in doing it.

There’s a good chance the person you talk to will have experienced exactly what you are describing. They might be able to give you some good tips for ways they cope with the same kind of study stress. Or they might be able to help you manage your work load.

You can also talk to other students, get study advice and encouragement at the Ministry of Education’s website Studyit: for NCEA students.
